One of the country’s most prestigious law firms, Laga offers its clients a full range of high-end legal services. With approximately 140 lawyers, Laga currently has offices in Brussels, Antwerp and Kortrijk. A new office in Ghent is planned for 2015.
In 2014 Laga expanded its French-speaking team with the hiring of a new partner, Benoît Féron. Laga also acquired Greenille, Belgium’s leading law firm in tax and legal services for high-net-worth families and individuals. The acquisition strengthens Laga’s ties with family businesses and their shareholders. The talented team, expansive network and specific expertise complement Laga’s existing services, allowing the firm to offer clients a distinctive all-in approach. An independent firm, Laga holds a unique position in the Belgian legal landscape because of its relationship with Deloitte. The arrangement is based on a policy that both firms follow of maintaining independence, respecting professional secrecy and avoiding conflicts of interest. The benefits of this relationship include the opportunity for the two organisations to share a number of costs. More importantly, Laga lawyers are able to share a great deal of expertise with Deloitte’s practitioners. One result of this exchange is that the typical individualistic approach of legal professionals is complemented by the teamwork culture of Deloitte. This enhances Laga’s ability to provide the integrated multidisciplinary offerings that, in a fast-changing world, its clients depend on today.
