iText Group wins Deloitte Technology Fast 50 award
Designed to encourage and promote dynamic high-tech enterprises, the Deloitte Technology Fast 50 competition annually selects the 50 fastest-growing technology companies headquartered in Belgium. The awards, distributed every year in September, are granted for high-growth entrants in several technology categories.
“We’re living in extraordinary, disruptive times. But it’s my opinion that, compared to 20 years ago, starting your own business is easier nowadays,” says Duco Sickinghe, who heads Fast 50’s independent jury. “Success factors are: listening to your customers, creating a good culture in your company and having a strong belief in the team you’re working with.”
The top spot in the 2014 Fast 50 went to iText Group, which achieved an amazing 4,099% growth in turnover over five years. Located in Sint-Amandsberg (Ghent), the company specialises in programmable PDF software. iText Group also did well in the Deloitte Technology Fast 500 EMEA competition, where it ranked 28th.
Bruno Lowagie, founder of iText Group: “Thanks to our ranking in the Fast 50 and the Fast 500, we have gained a lot of credibility. Companies thought we were a small company, but now realise that we are fast growing and here to stay. It also gives us a boost to further professionalise. For instance when we’re hiring, having the Fast 50 logo on our site gives us access to people who wouldn’t have considered working for iText before.”
